I don't have a problem with investigative journalism, which sometimes includes deception. This is quite like investigative journalism, but without the chyrons and commercials.
At the same time, I won't argue with people who believe it would be better - either more effective or more in line with Scripture - to handle things differently. For me it's a matter of conscience, and my conscience has a long history of not being perfect.
The obvious point is that the fundamental prerequisite for resurrection is death. From my chair, it is the whole Incarnation that is the central point of the Creation of the Universe.
Yes, of course, that's obvious. However: I'm not sure that the New Testament expresses that our hope is in His death to the same degree as that our hope is in His resurrection. Our hope is that we too will be resurrected, as He is the firstborn among many. Certainly His death matters immensely, but I consider the historical focus on His death, paired with His resurrection being all but ignored at times, to be the work of our adversary. People around the world wear crosses and crucifixes, get tattoos, and write about the cross... but it seems the only time we focus on the empty tomb is that one Sunday each year.
Yeah, I get that. Sometimes we must remove ourselves from the centre and put Jesus, in all His iterations from before, during, and after the Incarnation where he belongs. What if our salvation was not about ourselves?
You're very kind... thank you!
Interesting article on Matt’s movie. I don’t have an issue with his deceptions to bring light to the situation.

I chalk it up to the same vein as “Christmas lies” to surprise people with something better like a big gift
🤣🤣🤣
