This analogy is perfect and deeply convicting! We should not be tearing apart Jesus' body for the sake of our our own selfishness. We are called to LOVE his body, and love is inherently self-less. Thank you for sharing this.
Another good one, Tony. You always give me something to think about.
About smoking pot. I seem to remember that folks fought long and hard against smoking cigarettes but somehow smoking pop is different? I don’t hunger it.
- As far as government goes, I'd lean libertarian on this. If adults want to smoke pot, or cigarettes, that's on them. As long as they're not endangering others, I'd rather not try to force them to be wise.
- I think it's unwise to smoke anything at all, or take mind-altering substances for entertainment or pleasure. Life is hard enough, and wonderful enough, without trying to escape pain or fake joy.
Great article Tony
Thanks, Paisan!

Thanks, Kimberly... and that's well put!
Thanks for the mention.

My position is pretty simple:
- As far as government goes, I'd lean libertarian on this. If adults want to smoke pot, or cigarettes, that's on them. As long as they're not endangering others, I'd rather not try to force them to be wise.
- I think it's unwise to smoke anything at all, or take mind-altering substances for entertainment or pleasure. Life is hard enough, and wonderful enough, without trying to escape pain or fake joy.
- As medicine, I think pot may be very helpful.
... and thanks for your kind words, my friend.
My remark was about how drawing smoke into one’s lungs with substance is okay, but doing the same with another substance is beyond the pale.
Yeah... never made sense to me.
